Don’t miss the chance get involved! Become the next Postgraduate Representative and share your enthusiasm for Genetics with other researchers and the general public.
There is an opening for a Postgraduate Representative, which will commence in Spring 2012 and run through Spring 2014. As a postgraduate representative you will attend biannual Committee meetings where you would represent the concerns of graduate students and other young scientists. As a member of the Committee, you will be provided with a number of opportunities to represent the Genetics Society at student events and to organise social activities at meetings organised by the Genetics Society. Applications for this post will be accepted until 2nd December 2011.
The minimal requirements to apply for the post include:
• enrolment as a postgraduate student with an interest in Genetics at a UK institution;
• ideally, you would be at an early stage or mid-way through your studies and be prescribed to graduate no earlier than 2014;
• support for your application by 2 current members of the Society;
• membership in the Society - if you are not presently a member, you can apply concurrently;
If you wish to be considered for this post, please send your CV (1 page max), a short cover letter (<150 words) and names of two members of the Genetics Society who could support your application to The Genetics Society Honorary Secretary, Patty Kuwabara.
