This meeting will gather together some of the world's leading scientists who have made seminal contributions toward understanding the biological processes underlying human genetic disease using animal models. Areas explored will include: the value of genetic screens in model organisms and in human populations; the elucidation of the cellular, molecular and developmental mechanisms of disease; advances in treatment of these disorders including gene and stem cell therapy approaches.
